Make a lasting difference -
join Think Malawi Together

We are delighted to announce the launch of Think Malawi Together – a special club for our regular donors.

Together we can enable more children in Malawi to remain in education so that they can make better lives for themselves and their families; to provide the resources that they need to achieve their full potential in school; and to help ensure that girls do not miss school because they don’t have access to hygiene products.

Why join Think Malawi Together
Think Malawi Together members will enjoy a range of special benefits including newsletter updates, early-bird access to our events, and the opportunity to attend our AGM. Regular income is vital enables us and our partner organisations in Malawi to plan ahead for the needs of learners there.

Beating illiteracy with reading camps

In Nkhata Bay district of Malawi, only 7% of women have completed primary education and only 3% of women and 6% of men have gone on to graduate from secondary school (Malawi Demographic and Health Survey 2015-6), and illiteracy is a widespread problem. Donations from our supporters have enabled us to fund our project partners in Malawi TEMWA, with £3,000 towards the running of reading camps and other literacy activities, in order to reach over 5,000 children there.

Enabling deaf and blind girls to stay in school

The school drop-out rate amongst the 900 female pupils at  Karonga Primary School of Blind and Deaf is estimated at 87%. This is partly due to missed classes because the deaf and blind girls don't have a proper solution for their menstruation. Through donations from our supporters, we are making a grant of £3,000 to our project partners in Malawi, Hope for Relief. This will enable sewing machines, materials and training to be provided to girls so that they can make reusable sanitary pads for all of the girls at the school who need them.
